We strive to go beyond expectations in everything we do – with over 30 years of success to prove it.
Amicum was established in 1997 by John Newman. The idea was to deliver a more specialised, versatile, and corporate approach to the mergers, acquisitions, and divestment of aged care & retirement living businesses and property portfolios.
The Amicum team specialise in mergers and acquisitions for the aged care and retirement living sector, in addition we have a dedicated team focused on project sales in Retirement Living.
We understand that these transactions are more than financial events—they shape communities, impact residents’ lives, and define the future of care delivery. Our role is to guide operators through these complex transitions with clarity, discretion, and confidence.

Amicum is a dedicated advisory firm with deep expertise in aged care and retirement living transactions. Our team brings together industry knowledge, transactional experience, and an understanding of regulatory and operational environments. We combine rigorous analysis with practical insight, helping our clients navigate regulatory requirements, workforce considerations, and continuity of care—without losing sight of the bigger picture.
